What is some suggested maintenance for my Surfjet?
Every time you get out of the water check for holes or cracks in the hull, if there are any then repair them right away.  And make sure the carburetor fuel bowl is kept clean.

How can I get more speed out of my Surfjet? 
Add spark plug igniter which can be bought from any snowmobile shop, get bigger jets for carburetor (there are two different carburetors for the Surfjet and there are many different jets available.) You can also glass bead the jet propulsion unit which will give you an extra 50# of thrust from the stock 180#.

How can I restore my Surfjet hull? 
First take all your stickers and decals off. Try and remove as much of the sticky stuff as possible. Use a razor blade and a lot of elbow grease. 3M General Purpose cleaner works good with a scrub pad. Start with 180 grit sandpaper and remove all imperfections until everything is white and smooth again. Next go thru a series of wet sanding starting with 320 grit, to 600 grit and then to 1500 grit. Spend a good 1 1/2 hrs on each grit of sandpaper. When you finish with the 1500 grit you will need fiberglass color restorer. If you have a buffer this will even  work better. You need to apply it about 2 to 3 times you will start to see it really shine. Keep applying until your satisfied. Then after that, apply a good couple of coats of fiberglass wax. Your efforts will really be worth it!
